Clothing for the Rider

Helmets and Boots

The Loft at Meadowbrook offers a wide range of ASTM/SEI approved schooling and show helmets from International, Troxel and Charles Owen, including The Hampton and GR8. Due to safety considerations, helmets are the only item of apparel that cannot be sold over the telephone, ordered by fax or on-line. Staff at The Loft are experienced in measuring riders for helmets, and it is the policy of The Loft at Meadowbrook to strongly encourage riders to wear approved helmets at all times when mounted on horseback.

The Loft carries field boots and paddock boots, both lace and zip, in children's and adult sizes. Staff of The Loft are happy to fit you for semi-custom or custom tall boots or paddock shoes, ordering them from companies we have dealt with for years. (It's truly an elegant feeling to put on boots that have been made to your measurements.)

Breeches and Jodhpurs

Breeches and jodhpurs suitable for showing or schooling are available in children's sizes 4 through 16 and adult sizes 24 through 40. The Loft carries Tailored Sportsman breeches in 2-way stretch and 4-way stretch in the traditional "greenie", tan and newer colors of charcoal and gray. You may come to The Loft and try on a pair, or if you know your size, give The Loft a call to have items shipped to you at home.

Shirts, Jackets, and Gloves

Show shirts and jackets in children's sizes 6-16 and adult sizes 32-44, polo shirts for schooling, tee-shirts for barn work, and sweatshirts for just running around are all available at The Loft. Many of these items can be custom monogrammed by MKR Designs. Schooling and show gloves are also available in a variety of styles and textures, for both cold weather and warm weather riding.

Fun Wear

The Loft loves Fun Wear!! Fun Wear includes baseball caps, crazy riding socks, unique belts and accessories, and equestrian-related articles of clothing that you've never seen before!

Gifts and Jewelry

The Loft carries fine equestrian theme notecards and greeting cards as well as jewelry by The Chippendale Collection. A selection of fine china, watches, home accessories and chocolates make nice gifts for teachers, riding friends, or long-suffering "Barn Mothers."

Coronet Bottle Openers

Coronet's 18-8 stainless steel bottle openers make great Christmas gifts or picnic/tailgateing accessories. Choose either a horse's hoof or rider's boot for an elegant gift!

Consignment

The Loft offers the opportunity for riders to consign articles of clothing and equipment they have outgrown or just don't wear any more. The Loft at Meadowbrook's consignment service offers shoppers great values on used breeches, shirts, and boots. Due to safety considerations, The Loft does not accept used helmets for consignment. Consignment sales are particularly popular among families with rapidly growing young riders. shows off two two items of clothing for the horse: a Blue Ribbon sheepskin padded show halter and an Edgewood lead. Holding the lead is Chris Wright who works at the Library of Congress and takes riding vacations in Wyoming.

Monograms and Embroidery

MKR Designs does custom monogramming and embroidery for Loft customers. Mary Riesch is an equestrienne and expert seamstress who will embroider your monogram or an equine-related image onto almost any article of clothing or accessory. A wide range of colors and styles are available, with rapid turn around of your orders.
